What's On

Did you know that 39 million people visited the UK in 2018?

Hardly surprising when you consider what’s on offer. There are literally thousands of tourist attractions, not least 2,500 museums, 41 theme parks and more than 800 castles.
Mountains and moors, spanning 15 national parks packed with wildlife, waterways and mile upon mile of navigable paths. Walkers, cyclists and thrill seekers flock to lush, green valleys and rugged terrain to experience some of the best scenery the world has to offer. Wherever you choose to roam, be it the Lake District, Brecon Beacons or the Yorkshire Dales, to name but three, you are certainly in for a treat.
Out on the coast there are seascapes aplenty with no less than 1,500 beaches waiting to be discovered. From calm turquoise seas and white sands in the Scottish Highlands, to Old Red Sandstone in Devon, every beach, cove, and bay is unique. Look a little closer to find history woven into the landscape. Neolithic monuments, fortresses, follies and an impressive canal network from our industrial past.
If you like walking, try a new route in one of 15 national parks. Take the South West Coast Path and see Durdle Door, or venture to Silverdale in the North West, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. If you’d like to see the countryside from a whole new perspective, take to the water on our rivers and canals.
Venture to the city for culture, fashion, art and shopping. If you love to shop, dine and immerse yourself in city life, take a break somewhere new and exciting.
You just never know what you’re missing…
