Pines

A little history…The Pines Caravan Park exists thanks to Dr. Beeching’s railway cuts in the 1960s. Caravans on the lower level are on the site of the old railway line, with the Park owner’s accommodation being Doldowlod Station master’s house and also the ticket office.

Accessible  from your caravan, a few steps brings you to a walk along the bank of the River Wye, ideal for your morning stroll especially if you have 4 legged friends. Watch the dippers in the river, keep your eye open for the heron, and if you’re really lucky, maybe a kingfisher or even an otter, all have been spotted here. Woodpeckers are around on the park too with plenty of Red Kites flying overhead. The Kite Feeding Centre is only 3 miles away, at Gigrin Farm near Rhayader.
