Shevington village fete promises to be bigger and better than ever!

A village fete which has grown over the past few years promises to offer its biggest and best event in 2018! People in the local community of Shevington, Wigan, were disappointed in 2016 because the annnual Fete could not run due to lack of volunteers. Late last year, the committee saw an influx of willing volunteers and it was decided to hold the event on Saturday 30th June.

The whole community are invited to attend, whether as visitors or stallholders. The stalls don’t just offer locally, handmade crafts, goods and food but also include information stalls with representatives from local and nationwide charities and organisations including Northern Greyhound Rescue, the local branches of Women’s Institute, Butterflies Children’s Charity and The Samaritans of Wigan.

Mountain Monkeys will be providing a climbing wall and archery for the more adventurous members of the community, while pizzas will be sold by the Travelling Pizza Company. Emma’s Ice Cream Van and food stalls – including the Cheese & Pie Company, Daisy Catering and Signature Scones – will be available, and there will be refreshment areas inside each building.

Tom Jones impersonator Ian Anthony, local singer Ellie X and the Phoenix Ukulele Band are among performers attending.
