Subvert Boardstore at BEYOND, is pleased to be hosting one of the Greater Manchester’s most highly anticipated (and unusual) fundraising events. Now in its 11th year, SubJam will hit the Chill Factore slope, for a spectacular snowboarding event that will see a series of seriously fun activities arrive at Manchester’s home of adventure, with all donations going directly to The Christie.
Taking place on Saturday 22nd September, SubJam is ‘jam’ packed full of activities on the slope, with live music, sweet treats, freestyle boarding all day and there’s even a tattoo artist on site, ready to ink up attendees…! In its impressive ten-year history, SubJam has raised more than £55,000 for the incredible work of The Christie, a Manchester based charity that supports the development of cancer prevention, treatment, research and education – and this year hopes to raise even more than ever before!
The session will begin with BoobyJam, which will offer competent boarders the chance to learn freestyle skills from Boobytrap’s Trap Lord, from 3pm till 5pm. From 6pm, SubJam will be giving boarders the chance to trial this winter’s must-have kit from brands including Burton, Capita, Solomon and Lib Tech. During these sessions, SubJam’s resident DJ will be blasting big tunes to get the crowd moving and grooving while showing off on the freestyle park. The atmosphere and music can also be enjoyed from the bar, where Subvert will host its infamous raffle.
Plus, Chester based Crown of Thorns Tattoo studio, will also be in the Subvert store, ready to ink-up those wanting some new body art, with all donations going directly to the charity. For those looking for a less permanent memento of the day, limited edition SubJam t-shirts designed by C.O.T will also be available in store.
Weather-permitting, skaters can also show off their skills on the Pop-Up Skate Park which will be outside BEYOND.
And if that wasn’t enough excitement, a free Vans Waffle machine, packed with sugary waffles, will keep those who’ve either hit the slopes or are just tired from watching, satisfied.
