Gloucestershire & Warwick Railway

Gloucestershire & Warwick Railway - The Friendly Line in the Cotswolds offers a unique opportunity to sample train travel from 50 years ago.  The world was changing rapidly and so on our 29 mile round trip you can sample the glory of steam and those “new” diesel railcars with the panoramic views – and for the children (young and old!) those seats right behind the driver to see what he sees.  Large diesel locos also haul some services.

Southeastern launch summer tickets for just £15, £20 and £25

Southeastern has launched a Summer Offer delivering reduced-price tickets for Londoners looking to escape the city to Kent and East Sussex for as little as £15.

Running throughout the summer months, Off-Peak Day Return tickets to 13 of the most popular destinations across the South East will be slashed by around 30%[1]. And what is more, the offer can be used alongside Southeastern’s ‘Kids for £1’ – meaning a family day out is more affordable than ever before[2].

The Lincolnshire Wolds Railway

The Lincolnshire Wolds Railway (LWR) is situated in a beautiful part of countryside between the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and the Lincolnshire coast. Based at Ludborough Station, the railway is only a short distance from Grimsby, the seaside resort of Cleethorpes, and from the historic market town of Louth, making it an ideal stop-off for anyone visiting Lincolnshire.

The Llanberis Lake Railway

The Llanberis Lake Railway is one of several great attractions in Llanberis, the lakeside village at the foot of Snowdon. There’s so much to see and do, and something for everyone. The new Ropes and Ladders high wire course for the more adventurous; an ancient Castle, a Power Station hidden deep inside a mountain, and reminders of the once thriving slate industry in the Old Quarry Hospital and National Slate Museum. Then there’s the picturesque Padarn Country Park with its waymarked woodland and lakeside walks, and various activities including boat trips and rowing boats on Lake Padarn.
